The Center achieves its objectives through four programs :
The Center has allocated $20,000 per project to support seven project start-ups each year.
For students and fellows, with a budget for one post-doctoral fellowship, three Master’s and / or Ph.D. scholarships, and one summer scholarship. Scholarship amounts is determined in accordance with Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) guidelines.
(recognized by the Université de Montréal as continuing professional education) For health-care professionals with an interest in the issue of occupational asthma: physicians, nurses, technicians, psychologists, hygienists, administrators and others.
The multidisciplinary team from the Center is developing an university-level on-line course
on occupational asthma. This is a two-part project:
1. A Web site for professional information ;
2. An on-line course for health-care professionals and students enrolled in health programs.
The couse and the occupational asthma information center will be available on line soon.
for workers in at-risk professions and / or who present with respiratory symptoms in their respective professional milieux. Researchers from the Center have developed research and monitoring programs for apprentices and workers in at-risk professions.
